Board Drift Guard — How to use

Board Drift Guard is a read-only board governance app. It compares the current board structure with an approved baseline and reports structural drift.

Install and open the app

1. Install Board Drift Guard from the monday.com app marketplace.
2. Open a board you want to monitor.
3. Add the Board Drift Guard board view.
4. Open the view and allow the app to read the board structure.

Create the first baseline

1. Review the detected board and monitored columns.
2. Select Approve current baseline.
3. The approved board structure becomes the reference for later scans.

Scan for drift

1. Select Scan board.
2. Review any findings by severity.
3. Missing approved columns and column type changes are treated as blocking findings.
4. Unexpected additions or configuration changes are surfaced as warnings.

Explain findings with monday AI

1. Run a deterministic board scan first.
2. Select Explain with monday AI.
3. Review the plain-English risk summary and suggested review steps.
4. Treat the deterministic findings as authoritative; the AI explanation is advisory and does not modify board data.

Accept an intentional change

If a board change is intentional, review it first and then select Approve current baseline to replace the old reference with the new structure.

Privacy and security

Board Drift Guard performs read-only inspection. It does not modify board items or columns and does not store customer board data in an external database. The optional AI explanation uses monday AI through the monday platform and runs only when the user requests it.
